Reyhana Masters (Chairperson)
Reyhana has been a part of the media sector in Zimbabwe over the last 3 decades as a journalist, trainer, researcher and a media and communications consultant. She has held senior editorial positions in various media organisations in Zimbabwe. She is a former chairperson of the Zimbabwe chapter of the Media Institute of Southern African (MISA). She also served as the Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Governing Council of MISA. Reyhana has been involved in numerous media related projects ranging from monitoring content to the moderation of the regional African Media Barometer and is currently a board member at the Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ).
Precious Chakasikwa (Deputy Chairperson)
Precious is an Advocate with Kantor and Immerman. She has rich experience of civil society board management through her involvement with several organisations that include the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), Population Services International Zimbabwe, the Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ), the National AIDS Council (NAC) and the Women’s University in Africa (Steering Committee). She holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a higher national diploma in Marketing.
Cris Chinaka (Programme Development Committee Chairperson)
Cris is a renowned journalist and media consultant. He worked for more than 20 years at Reuters International News Service and is the former bureau chief for the news agency in Zimbabwe. He practised for more than 30 years as a journalist. He is currently involved in local, regional and international training and mentoring of journalists, and is heavily involved in Investigative Reporting initiatives. He is the Vice Chairperson at the Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) and chairs the Media Centre (Zimbabwe) as well as The Source boards of trustees
Israel Mabhande (Management Committee)
Israel is a registered public accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (ACIS). He has over 20 years’ experience working as an administrator and accounting consultant in both the public and private sectors. Israel is currently the Managing Consultant at Ima Consultants, an accounting, tax and corporate secretarial consultancy firm. He worked as a Business Tax Compliance Manager at Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants and was a member of the Board of Appeal of the African Industrial Property Organisation (ARIPO). He also served as a committee member of the National Committee on Intangible Heritage and was the Coordinator of the Intellectual Property Exposition (IP Expo).
Foster Dongozi (Programme Development Committee)
Foster is a veteran journalist who has worked for reputable local and international publications. He has held senior newsroom positions locally for a period spanning more than 15 years. Foster is a renowned media activist and the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ) secretary general. His media activism has seen him being elected the deputy president of the Federation of African Journalists (FAJ).
Tawanda Majoni (National Coordinator )
Tawanda is the IDT Founding Trustee and National Coordinator. He has more than 15 years’ experience as a senior journalist both in and outside Zimbabwe and has corresponded for various reputable international publications. Tawanda is an Investigative Journalism mentor, academic and columnist. He is a board member at the Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) and sits on the Christian College of Southern Africa (CCOSA) advisory board on journalism and communication. He is a former director of communications and marketing at the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) and holds the following qualifications: BA Honours in Philosophy, MA in Philosophy, MSc in Development Studies, two diplomas in Journalism and a diploma in Marketing.
Nyasha Sungwa (Administration Officer )
Nyasha Sungwa currently works at Information for Development Trust (IDT) as the Finance and Administration Officer. She studied Business Management at Midlands State University (MSU). Nyasha is working towards a professional qualification with ICSAZ. Prior to joining IDT, she worked for Microking Finance Pvt Ltd and Cottco Zimbabwe as an Accounts Clerk.
